Uwa Airhiavbere is a Managing Director within Microsoft’s Worldwide Energy Industry practice. In this role, Uwa is responsible for Microsoft’s overall strategy in the Mining and Oil & Gas industries, including field readiness and engagement, partner strategy, strategic investments, and integration among business groups within Microsoft.
James Lawton - Chief Technology Officer, Seequent
James joined the Seequent team from Toronto-based Dealer-FX Group, the leading customer experience management provider for automotive OEMs and their retailers, where he held the roles of CTO and most recently Chief Product Officer.
Prior to this he spent 14 years with Siemens Enterprise Communications (now Unify) in a variety of roles including VP Strategic Business Development and VP Strategic Portfolio Integration, following several years at IBM Canada as an IS systems operational team leader.

He brings leadership, commercial and operational experience from multiple geographies, sectors and functions. These include financial services, renewable energy, international charter shipping and forest management, holding roles in Australia, UK and New Zealand. He gained a first-class honours degree in Forestry Science from Canterbury University, MBA and Diploma in Management Consulting from Leeds UK. His connection with Canterbury University continues as Chairman of the MBA board.
Recently he became involved in the implementation of geology and geotechnics into building information modelling (BIM) processes, with the intention to bring the geotechnical expertise and experience into BIM work flows and data structures that are currently developed.
