From then until mid-afternoon, we’ll host a diverse series of presentations from respected technology partners, geoscience professionals, and Seequent employees (with coffee and lunch networking breaks between sessions).

Then, we’ll invite you to our Solutions Kiosks – where you can learn more about Seequent solutions and provide direct, in-person feedback to our product specialists.

We’ll be rounding off the day with drinks, appetisers, and informal networking.

Nick Fogarty

General Manager Mining & Minerals at Seequent

Nick Fogarty is the General Manager of Mining & Minerals at Seequent.

Nick is an innovative and strategically focused professional with 15 years’ experience advising on and implementing international sales and marketing initiatives. He has extensive experience in leading global teams and operating in cross-cultural environments. Enthusiastic and creative, Nick has a passion to determine company direction and implement growth through business and technology-led innovation.

James Lawton

Chief Technology Officer at Seequent

James recently joined the Seequent team from Toronto-based Dealer-FX Group, the leading customer experience management provider for automotive OEMs and their retailers, where he held the roles of CTO and most recently Chief Product Officer.
Prior to this he spent 14 years with Siemens Enterprise Communications (now Unify) in a variety of roles including VP Strategic Business Development and VP Strategic Portfolio Integration, following several years at IBM Canada as an IS systems, operational team leader.
He started his career as a Project Geologist and worked on numerous geological exploration projects in Canada and Guyana. Lawton gained a B.Sc. (hons) in Geological Sciences from Ontario’s Queen’s University.

Ignacio Torresi

Portfolio Director Geostatistics at Seequent

Ignacio Torresi has been part of Seequent since 2013 and has been a user of the Leapfrog Geo suite since 2010. He has extensive experience in exploration, geological modeling, evaluation of resources and reserves and operations for companies throughout Latin America and Asia Pacific region. He has developed his experience living and working in countries such as Brazil, Chile, Australia, New Zealand and Papua New Guinea, either with Seequent or other mining companies.
Ignacio was previously the Regional Director for the Latin America region for Seequent. He is currently the Director of Geostatistics, leading the development and administration of the execution of the business plan for this portfolio.

Telma Aisengart

Senior Technical Leader at Seequent

Telma is a Senior Technical Leader with more than 30 years of experience working with geoscientific data, and has been with Seequent formerly Geosoft Latin America, since 1995. She is responsible for the management of the technical team, supervision and execution of geophysical data modeling services projects, organisation and implementation of geoscientific data servers as well as providing advanced training in the use of geophysical tools.

She has previously worked with seismic data processing in the Geophysical and Western-Geco / Schlumberger Promon as well as Assistant Researcher in the National Laboratory of Scientific Computation. Telma holds a master's in physics with a specialisation in geophysics.

José Luis Ando

Senior Technical Analyst at Seequent

José has more than 15 years of experience in training and technical consulting for mining, exploration and geological service companies in Latin America. Previously he has worked on mineral exploration activities and viability of mining projects in the Andean and Amazonian regions, acting as Exploration Geologist and Project Manager for the Billiton and Asarco companies.

Sandra Pérez

Resource Geologist at Golder Associates

Geologist with 13 years of experience. Sandra currently works in the area of Mineral Resources at Golder S.A. As a Resource geologist, she has worked on Geological Model Review, checking and validation of geological information on drilling and databases and Construction and interpretation of the 3D model using Leapfrog and Vulcan software in different projects. Sandra has a high level of mastery of geological 3D modeling software, which allows her to have an integral view of the database validation process and interpretation and construction of geological models.

Enrique Gutiérrez

Principal Consultant at SRK

Geologist with 15 years of professional experience in ore, silver, zinc, lead, copper and other minerals in different Latin American countries.

Likewise, in initial stage and development projects, resources estimation in short and mid-term, 3D geological modeling, audits, resources estimation and mineral reserves (according to JORC and CIM), preparation of reports under the Canadian standard NI 43-101 for disseminated deposits, epithermal silver / gold deposits and base metal deposits. Since 2015 he has been the Principal Consultant at SRK in Peru..

Pablo de la Flor

Executive Director of SNMPE

Pablo de la Flor currently serves as Executive Director of SNMPE. Before he was the Vice President of Corporate Affairs of the Banco de Crédito del Perú, and previously of the Antamina Mining Company. In the public sector, he has served as Executive Director of the Authority for Reconstruction, Vice Minister of Foreign Trade, Head of the FTA Negotiating Team with the US, Vice Minister of Integration and Tourism, Vice President of the Commission for Consumer Defense of INDECOPI.

He has also worked as Executive Chairman of Tironi & De la Flor, Program Officer of the Ford Foundation and International Economist of the First National Bank of Chicago. He has been President of the Executive CADE, the Education CADE and the PERUMIN business meeting. He is the Director of different non-governmental organizations linked to educational and CSR issues. He has published three books and academic articles in different international journals.
He has a Master's degree in Public Administration from Harvard University and International Relations from Yale University. He is also a doctoral candidate in Political Science from the University of Chicago.

José Arce

Chief Geoscientist at Arce Geofísicos

José is the General Manager of ARCE GEOFÍSICOS Colombia branch, based in Medellín. He has extensive experience throughout the Americas and has published more than 926 geophysical surveys and 14 articles.
He has experience across all stages of geophysical projects, from survey design, field measurements, data processing, modeling, data analysis, geophysical consulting, development of geophysical methods. As well as experience with over 92 own geophysical instruments and 13 field brigades, with potential, electric, electromagnetic and seismic field methods.
He holds a Bachelor´s degree of Science (BSc) in Geology and Geophysics and a Master of Science (MSc) in Geological and Geophysical Engineering.

Ángel Ríos

Senior Geologist Antamina Mining Company

Ángel is an economic geologist and competent under the JORC code. He is an expert in geological modeling under the implicit modeling approach having developed models of several deposits in South America, resource estimation and implementation of QAQC programs.
He has extensive experience in brownfield and greenfield exploration for gold, silver and base metals using geophysical and geochemical methods from the development of GIS to drilling and solid experience in exploration, planning, development and production in underground mining.

Jesús Torero

Senior Modelling Geologist at Volcan Compañia Minera

Jesús is Senior Modelling Geologist at Volcan Compañia Minera. He is a Geological Engineer with 14 years of professional experience related to different mining operations and projects in Peru. His experience includes mining resources and reserves protocols under international standards such as JORC and NI 43-101. He currently works on the operations of different mines such as Óxidos de Pasco (Au-Ag), Cerro de Pasco (Zn-Pb-Ag-Cu), El Santo (Zn-Pb-Ag), Yauli (Pb-Zn-Ag), Cuajone (Cu-Mo), El Roble, Colombia (Cu-Au).
Jesús holds an international specialisation in resource calculation and a Masters in Geometallurgy.
Lee Barbour

Lee Barbour

Technical Advisor and Chairman at GEOSLOPE

Lee Barbour has served as a Technical Advisor and Chairman of the Board for nearly 35 years with GEOLOPE International. Lee is also a Professor Emeritus at the University of Saskatchewan, Canada in the department of Civil, Geological and Environmental Engineering where he has worked for over 35 years. Lee’s research during most of his tenure at the University was directed towards mine closure challenges associated with metal, potash, uranium and coal mining. His primary focus in this research was on water flow and chemical transport in saturated and unsaturated soils with a special focus on the hydrologic performance of reclamation covers. His research culminated in 20 years of applied research with Syncrude Canada Limited (Canadian Oilsands) where he held an Industrial Research Chair for approximately 7 years. He has recently been involved in 10 years of applied research with Teck Resources (metallurgical coal) where he served on a number of Environmental Advisory Panels to apply R&D to operational challenges as well as serving on the Geotechnical Review Board (GRB).

Melissa Vásquez

Senior Modeling and Resources Geologist at Gold Fields

Geological Engineer with 12 years of experience in geological resources from the National University of San Marcos.

Dr. Miguel Cardozo

President and CEO of Altura Minerals Corp

Dr. Cardozo is an exploration geologist graduating from the National University of Engineering, Lima and a PhD from the University of Heidelberg, Germany. He has experience in organizing and conducting business and mining operations of different types and various levels of complexity and degree of development. He has 46 years of experience in mining exploration and business in various parts of the Americas, and has held management positions in Newmont, North Limited, Teck, Placer Dome and Aurion Gold, amongst others. He is the current President and CEO of Alturas Minerals Corp, a junior mining exploration company listed on the TSXV and the Lima Stock Exchange. He is also the founder and principal partner of the CP Group family conglomerate comprising Exploandes, Geodrones, Explosupport, Explotrack and IPC Salud, which provide a variety of services to the mining, construction, energy, medicine and other business sectors. He has had a very intense institutional participation throughout his career in multiple institutions linked to the mining sector and is currently Vice President of the Institute of Mining Engineers of Peru.

Alejandro Manrique

Modeling Chief for Compañía de Minas Buenaventura

Alejandro is a Geological Engineering Professional of the National University of San Agustín of Arequipa. He holds a diploma in Geostatistical Evaluation of Mining Resources at the University of Antofagasta, Lima and a Masters in Geology, Mining Resources Mention at the National University of San Marcos.
He is currently the Modeling Chief, Orcopampa in Compañía de Minas Buenaventura. He was previously Modeling Chief, Julcani and Modeling Geologist, UEA Tambomayo also for the Compañia de Minas Buenaventura.

Jonas Mota-e-Silva

Corporate Exploration Manager at Nexa Peru

Jonas is a geologist passionate about the science of mineral deposits discovery and development. During his career, he has developed in two branches: (i) academic and (ii) mineral industry. His academic side was developed in parallel to his industry role, where he concluded my Masters and PhD with several publications on Sulfide Nickel deposits. In the industry he has grown from mine geologist to exploration geologist, project manager, exploration manager and now corporate exploration manager. In Nexa Peru, he is focused on generating and developing Zinc and Copper projects, as well keep replenishing and expanding reserves in the Peruvian mines of Nexa.

Javier Andrés Olivares

Consulting Geologist at GeoEstima

Javier is a geologist and geostatistic with 8 years of experience in mineral resource evaluation, geometallurgy and exploration in copper deposits. Since 2015 he is Consulting Geologist at GeoEstima. During his professional career, he has worked on estimations with multivariable methods (co ‐ kriging, main components), estimation with mineralogical data, database reviews and implicit geological modeling. In 2015-2016, he studied a Diploma in Geostatistics Applied to the Estimation and Evaluation of Mining Sites at the Mining Chamber of Peru. In 2016, he studied the Geostatistics Assessment of Reservoirs, Generation XII at University of Chile.

Latin America Sales Manager at Geometrics

Sales Manager for Latin America at Geometrics Inc since 2006, with more than 40 years of experience in Geophysical Exploration and Geophysical Instrumentation, currently in charge of the Regional Management focused on Sales, Training and Technical Support for the Exploration Seismograph divisions, Magometers and Electromagnetic of Geometrics.
