Oasis montaj Radiometric Processing

Oasis montaj Radiometric Processing extends Oasis montaj with tools for processing and preparing radiometric (gamma-ray spectrometry) survey data for geological analysis.

Developed in partnership with Medusa Radiometrics, the extension brings Medusa’s established radiometric processing methods directly into Oasis montaj. It supports processing of full-spectrum radiometric data from modern airborne and ground-based sensors, producing Oasis montaj-native outputs that can be reviewed, validated, and used alongside magnetic and gravity data.
Radiometric Processing replaces legacy radiometric extensions and is used to prepare radiometric data for interpretation within integrated geophysical and geological workflows.
The Radiometric Processing extension requires an active Oasis montaj licence and is available as a 12-month named or shared subscription.

Process radiometric data alongside magnetic and gravity datasets

Work with radiometric, magnetic, and gravity data in the same Oasis montaj project, supporting consistent interpretation across datasets.

Apply established radiometric correction and noise‑reduction methods

Use industry‑established radiometric correction and spectral noise‑reduction methods developed with Medusa Radiometrics, including NASVD and MNF where appropriate.

Review and validate individual processing stages

Apply radiometric processing in a guided, step‑by‑step sequence where individual corrections and transformations can be reviewed and validated.

Prepare radiometric outputs for geological interpretation

Generate radiometric grids and outputs ready for geological mapping and integration with other geophysical datasets.
Methods: radiometric (gamma‑ray spectrometry)
Data types: airborne and ground‑based spectral data, line data, gridded datasets

Modern radiometric processing workflows

  • Process full‑spectrum radiometric data from modern sensors

  • Support higher‑resolution spectral data beyond legacy channel limitations

  • Work with airborne and ground‑based radiometric survey data

Noise reduction and spectral processing

  • Apply Noise Adjusted Singular Value Decomposition (NASVD) for spectral noise reduction

  • Use Minimum Noise Fraction (MNF) workflows where appropriate

  • Smooth and stabilise spectra prior to radionuclide extraction

Radiometric corrections and standardisation

  • Apply standard radiometric correction workflows in line with industry practice

  • Convert spectral data into potassium (K), thorium (Th), uranium (U), and total count outputs

  • Generate radiometric products suitable for geological mapping and analysis

Integration with Oasis montaj workflows

  • Produce Oasis montaj‑native outputs that integrate with existing databases and grids

  • Replace legacy radiometric extensions with a consistent, modern workflow
