Oasis montaj Interpretation extends Oasis montaj with tools for interpreting processed gravity and magnetic data to understand subsurface structure and geometry.

It supports depth-to-source estimation, structural interpretation, and source analysis, helping geophysicists extract geological meaning from processed survey data and guide subsequent modelling or inversion decisions.
Interpretation is used after processing and works with airborne, ground, and marine survey data.
The Interpretation extension requires an active Oasis montaj licence and is available as a 12-month named or shared subscription.

Estimate source depth, geometry, and extent

Derive depth and geometric information from gravity and magnetic responses to support interpretation of subsurface features.

Identify structural trends and boundaries

Highlight faults, contacts, and structural patterns that support geological interpretation and targeting.

Analyse individual sources

Evaluate isolated or localised sources using interpretation techniques, without requiring regional or basinscale modelling workflows.

Generate interpretation outputs that inform modelling or inversion

Produce interpretation outputs that guide subsequent modelling or inversion activities carried out using other tools or workflows.

  • Apply reduction‑to‑the‑pole (RTP) and reduction‑to‑the‑equator (RTE) transformations

  • Estimate source depth using Euler deconvolution applied to gridded data

  • Assess depth and geometry of individual gravity or magnetic sources

Parametric source analysis

  • Perform parametric analysis using simplified source representations

  • Evaluate source geometry, depth, and physical contrast

Structural and pattern analysis

  • Apply texture and pattern analysis to highlight structural features and discontinuities

  • Identify circular features and boundaries associated with geological targets
