Introduction: Receiving Federal Risk and Authorisation Management Program approval, marks an important milestone for secure geotechnical data management in U.S. federal projects.
We are pleased to announce that Seequent OpenGround, our geotechnical information management software, alongside Bentley ProjectWise, has achieved Federal Risk and Authorisation Management Program (FedRAMP®) Authorisation at the Moderate Impact Level.
This authorisation means US federal agencies and their partners can now adopt OpenGround to modernise and strengthen data-centric workflows for crucial infrastructure programmes, all within a secure, compliant, cloud-based environment.
What is FedRAMP authorisation?
FedRAMP is a U.S. government programme that accelerates and supports the adoption of secure cloud-based services by the federal government. Through rigorous standards and controls testing, it ensures solutions from cloud service providers are resilient to cyber threats and effective in mitigating against cyber vulnerabilities.
For federal agencies, this authorisation provides streamlined access to secure, modern digital workflows, reinforcing the broader shift toward data-driven project delivery.
Connecting surface and subsurface intelligence
As the subsurface company within Bentley Systems, this milestone highlights our commitment to trust, compliance, and safeguarding critical infrastructure information.
‘Together, ProjectWise and OpenGround provide a trusted digital foundation for federal infrastructure programmes, connecting surface and subsurface intelligence in a secure cloud environment to accelerate project delivery and improve infrastructure resilience, all while meeting the highest U.S. government security standards,’ said Julien Moutte, Chief Technology Officer, Bentley Systems.
Sponsored by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE), this authorisation makes Seequent OpenGround available to support a wide range of federal infrastructure initiatives, from transportation and water systems to defence and environmental programmes.
By providing secure, interoperable, and scalable digital workflows, federal owners can modernise their digital delivery strategies, improve cross-agency collaboration, and adopt emerging practices like AI, digital twins, and real-time geotechnical intelligence with confidence.
