Objective:
I would like to update my video card driver to the most recent release version possible.

Resolution:

Windows 7 & 10

  1. From the Control Panel select Device Manager.
  2. Click the arrow to the left of Display adapters.
  3. Right-click on the graphics card listed and select Update Driver Software.
You can either use search for an update or use driver software on your computer.

On many computers we have found that the Microsoft tool used to automatically update video card drivers sometimes fails to locate the most recent driver.  If the steps above fail to resolve the issue please perform the following steps

Windows 7 & 10:

First check your video card driver details to determine the current version and date followed by your PC/laptop model and product numbers.

  2. Click Advanced Settings.
  3. On the Adapter tab click Properties.
  4. Select the Driver tab and note the driver date.
  5. Locate your PC/laptop model and product information either on the bottom, back, or side of your machine and note it for your driver search.
  6. Visit the manufacturer’s website for your PC or laptop to determine whether a video card driver update is available.  Here are some manufacturer’s websites for common Windows-based PC and laptop brands:
