Workbench

Workbench 2026.1

Clarity and control from setup to delivery

This update helps you organise, review, and deliver survey results with greater clarity and control. Manage large datasets more efficiently, work confidently with new TEM formats, and prepare data for clients or regulators with less effort.

Highlights:

– Improved inversion workflow reduces errors and saves time
– All parameters and notes in one place for transparent decision-making
– Enhanced workspace for faster data review and quality checks
– Flexible tools for splitting, sharing, and managing surveys
– Expanded support for new TEM data types
– Direct Gerda upload for Danish users

These updates are shaped by user feedback and built for teams working across large surveys, phased deliveries, and collaborative interpretation.

Important Notes / Unsupported Setups

– Workbench operates efficiently on any modern PC with a minimum of 4 GB RAM but the performance and speed increase with RAM capacity. While 8 GB RAM is sufficient for small to medium-sized surveys, larger surveys require 16 to 256 GB.

– Workbench benefits from more CPU-cores. While it supports up to 64 CPUs, even fewer (4-8) can handle inversions, albeit with longer processing times. However, for faster inversion processing, additional cores are advantageous. The inversion code is highly parallel, making more cores a cost-effective solution than relying on higher CPU frequencies (currently supporting a maximum of 64 CPUs).

– Disk space requirements vary based on the number of model parameters used in the inversion. Most projects can be comfortably accommodated with 10 GB of disk space, bur large Workbench projects can be 50 GB+.

Core system requirements

  Minimum Recommended
Operating system 64-bit 64-bit
Processor 4 CPUs 16 CPUs
System memory RAM: 4 GB RAM: 16 GB
Storage 10 GB 256 GB

*These system requirements may vary depending on the project and dataset size.

Desktop Software Version Support Policy

At Seequent, we look to find the best ways possible to provide you with the most reliable, high-quality service that we can.

To support this, we have established a Desktop Software Version Support Policy to gradually phase out support for older versions of the Seequent portfolio of desktop products.

Current support phases for each version of the Desktop software products

Current version Supported versions Reduced support Self-serve support Retired versions
Workbench 2026.1 2025.1 to 6.8.0 inclusive 6.6.0 to 6.7.0 inclusive None 6.5.0 to 5.8.0 inclusive

Support phases

We have five phases of product support:

  • Current release: This is the most current release of a product.
  • Supported version: This phase commences after the release of the next major (planned) release of a product and runs to the end of the calendar year 2 years from the end of the versions original release date.
For example, Oasis montaj 9.9 was released on November 17, 2020 and will be supported until December 31, 2022.
  • Reduced support: This phase commences at the completion of the “Supported Version” phase and runs for 1 year from that date.
For example, if a product entered the “Supported Version” phase on November 17, 2020 and exited this phase on December 31, 2022, the “Reduced Support” version would extend from January 1, 2023 until December 31, 2023.
  • Self serve support: This phase commences at the completion of the “Reduced Support” phase and runs for 1 year from that date.
For example, if a product entered the “Reduced Support” phase on January 1, 2023 and exited this phase on December 31, 2023, the “Self Serve Support” version would extend from January 1, 2024 until December 31, 2024.
  • Retired version: This phase commences at the completion of the “Self Serve Support” phase.

What are the support and maintenance obligations for each phase?

Support and maintenance differ at each stage and depending on your subscription. To understand what support and maintenance you are eligible for, please read our full Desktop Software Version Support Policy details and more FAQ’s.
