Graham Grant will deliver a keynote on how geoscience innovation and digital transformation are accelerating geothermal development. He will highlight the role of integrated subsurface data and collaboration in scaling geothermal energy for the global energy transition.

Monday, 8 June, 1:30 pm | In-booth presentation

Seequent will be joined by the Cascade Institute for an in-booth session exploring Canada’s deep geothermal potential through national-scale thermal modelling.

  • Industry plenary session: Digital Innovation and Geothermal – success stories and a view to the future
Tuesday, 9 June | 8:30 – 10:15 AM | Calgary TELUS Convention Centre

Seequent will lead this plenary exploring how AI and connected data are advancing geothermal development, with real-world examples of improving exploration, subsurface insight, and field optimisation.

The discussion will be moderated by Seequent’s COO, Angela Harvey, and will feature Jeremy O’Brien, Segment Director, Energy at Seequent; Ghazal Izadi, COO of XGS Energy; and Daniel Minguez, Senior VP of Resource and Engineering at Cyrq Energy.

  • Technical panel session: The future of geothermal resource assessment and management

Join Seequent and industry experts for a technical session focused on the evolving practices, tools, and skills shaping geothermal resource assessment. The discussion will address key industry challenges and provide practical insights into improving resource management and project outcomes.

The session will feature Clare Baxter, Regional Segment Manager, Energy, Seequent; Kathleen Gould, Senior Account Manager, Energy, Seequent; Nick Hinz, Chief Technical Officer, Geologica; Bill Cumming, Geothermal Resource Consultant; John Murphy, Director of Reservoir Engineering and Modelling at Ormat Technologies; and John O’Sullivan, Co-Director of the Geothermal Institute at the University of Auckland.

  • Latest product innovations, including new Volsung capabilities for modelling advanced geothermal systems and improved 3D visualisation, alongside Leapfrog Energy updates that strengthen stratigraphic modelling and confidence in subsurface interpretation.
  • Megawatt Challenge: interactive booth competition, running Monday–Wednesday from 1–4 PM, where participants use Seequent’s software to interpret a geothermal model and compete to drill the most successful well, measured by megawatts generated.
