We’re excited to announce a new integration between Seequent Evo and Deswik—bringing together two powerful solutions to streamline workflows and unlock new possibilities for geoscientists and engineers.
This collaboration is built on a shared commitment to openness, innovation, and customer-centric design. Our users have asked for smoother data flows between Deswik and Seequent products, and we’ve listened. The result is an important first step towards enabling the seamless movement of mine design and geoscience data between Deswik and Leapfrog via Evo, preserving full fidelity—including attributes and geometry.
At the heart of this integration is the Deswik Unified File (DUF) format (Deswik’s format for storing mine design data), now supported through an Evo open-source data converter. Available on GitHub, this converter allows users to transform Deswik.CAD files into Evo geoscience objects, which can then be visualised and analysed in Leapfrog.

The converter is run as a script on a Python notebook which reads lines and meshes from DUF files, uploads them to Evo, and assigns attributes for visualisation and analysis. Full control over data mapping and object creation is maintained.
Once the DUF file is converted, the resulting geoscience objects appear in Evo’s workspace. From there, Leapfrog users can import the data directly—with no intermediate formats, and no manual reprocessing. The integration preserves geometry and metadata, ensuring that mine designs retain their context and meaning.
By visualising the content of DUF files, Leapfrog users can better understand and evaluate mine designs, enabling faster and more informed decision-making. And for Deswik customers, this integration reduces friction in data workflows and eliminates the need for intermediate formats or manual reprocessing, ultimately delivering more efficient outcomes for both geologists and mine engineers.
The process is transparent, auditable, and extensible—empowering teams to collaborate without barriers.
This is just the beginning with future enhancements and a deeper integration planned. These capabilities will be delivered through Evo’s open API layer, enabling custom workflows and automated data exchange.
We’re proud to partner with Deswik to deliver meaningful productivity improvements and reduce friction in data workflows. This integration reflects our shared vision for an open ecosystem where data moves freely, insights are accelerated, and users remain in control.
Stay tuned for more updates as we continue to enhance the Evo platform and expand our network of technology partners.
