Managing and accessing Seequent software with your Bentley User Account

In 2021, Seequent joined Bentley Systems, enabling us to leverage our parent company’s tools, technology, and infrastructure.

To unlock the full benefits of Bentley Systems’ technology and resources, Seequent is adopting the Bentley account as the identity of choice for accessing our products. Over time, all Seequent products will transition to using the Bentley account as the standard login experience.

A Bentley account is a single sign-on credential that provides seamless access to products and cloud services and delivers the following benefits:

Unified access

A single set of login credentials removes the need to switch between identities and creates a more consistent customer experience.

Streamlined management

Using one account simplifies access for users, while enabling administrators to more easily manage user access and track activity through centralised reporting.

Authentication

The Bentley Connection Client, a system tray application, manages authentication for Bentley applications once signed in with your Bentley account.

Security

A Bentley account provides enhanced security and helps protect user data.

What’s changing during the transition

As we transition to Bentley accounts, customers may notice updates to sign-in experiences and terminology:

Seequent ID

A user account used to access Seequent applications and services. Seequent IDs use the Seequent Connector application to sign in.

Bentley account

A user account used across Bentley Systems. In products such as Leapfrog, Oasis montaj, Evo, and others, a Bentley account can be used to access both Seequent and Bentley entitlements. Bentley accounts use the Bentley Connection Client for sign-in.

Seequent entitlement

A product license granted using Seequent licensing systems.

Bentley entitlement

A product license granted using Bentley’s licensing system, the Subscription Entitlement Service (SES). This currently includes Leapfrog Works licenses under the E365 licensing model and all Seequent Evo licenses.

What is the Bentley CONNECTION Client?

The Bentley CONNECTION Client is your gateway to Bentley’s cloud services, portals and analytics. By signing into the CONNECTION Client you can find your company’s projects, track your time, explore analytics, download software updates, receive relevant notifications, and access other features available to you as a Bentley user.

Why can’t I access full product features?

For example, you may sign in to Leapfrog but find you are limited to Leapfrog Viewer.

This can happen if your Bentley account email address is different from the one your administrator has assigned your entitlements to.

Contact your organisation’s license administrator to check that your entitlements are assigned to the right email address.
