Visible Geology Google Login FAQ

We’re excited to announce that you can now sign into Visible Geology with your Google account. This replaces Seequent ID for a more streamlined login experience.

It’s important you do this before logging in with your Google account for the first time, otherwise you will have to link your data manually.

I have logged into Visible Geology using my Google account, but I haven’t taken the step to link my Seequent ID to my Google account. How can I manually migrate my saved data from my Seequent ID?

If you logged in with your Google account before linking it to your Seequent ID, Visible Geology created two separate accounts for you. This means your saved models are still stored under your Seequent ID and cannot be automatically merged.

You can manually move your work to your Google account.

Here’s how to transfer your saved projects to your Google account:

Step 1: Log in with your Seequent ID

– Go to visiblegeology.com.
– Click “Seequent Login”.
– Sign in with your Seequent ID to access your saved projects.

Step 2: Create a share code for each project

– For every project you want to keep, open it from your Seequent ID account.
– Click “Share”.
– Generate a share code or share link.
– Copy the code or link so you can use it in the next steps.

Step 3: Log in with your Google account

– Log out of your Seequent ID.
– Log back in using “Google Login”. This will take you to your new Google account, which you should use from now on.

Step 4: Open and copy each shared project

– Once you are signed in to your Google account, select “Input via code” on the Visible Geology home page.
– For each project, paste the share code you copied earlier or open the share link.
– The project will open as “read-only”.
– Click “Make a Copy” to save it to your Google account. Once copied, the project will permanently belong to your Google account.

Step 5: Rejoin any groups or assignments

– If you are part of any assignments or groups, select “Input via code” on the Visible Geology home page, add the original group invite code, and your access to the assignment or group will be restored.
– If you’re the admin of a group or assignment, and need to re-share your group or assignment invite code, navigate to the group in Visible Geology, and click ‘invite code’. Copy this code to share with your group members.

You’re all set!

After you have copied your projects, and rejoined your groups or assignments, everything will be saved in your Google account going forward.
