Water purveyors are responsible for ensuring that water management practices protect the communities and ecosystems that depend on surface water and groundwater systems to sustain life.

Changes to these systems can be estimated using flow modelling algorithms like MODFLOW, but the results can be difficult to interpret and communicate. We used Leapfrog Works to create a comprehensive geologic model to assess the MODFLOW-USG model layers and then analyzed the potential changes to surface water and groundwater. The analysis supported the basin’s water purveyor to make better strategic decisions for future water use.
