Re-imagined variogram modelling for today’s environment
Variphy’s state-of-the-art technology stems from a complete review of the variogram modelling workflow. Expect increased productivity, faster modelling process times and improved model quality, compared to traditional approaches.

Variogram modelling is a tedious yet critical part of any geostatistical modelling project. It merges qualitative and quantitative information about a deposit into the mathematical realm. For large deposits with several domains and attributes, a modeller may have to create and maintain hundreds of variogram models. Variphy provides a modern approach to ease that modelling process.

Augment your knowledge with a machine-centric workflow
Variphy does not aim to replace the modeller, instead it enhances their ability to provide fast high-quality models. Variphy is built around a new workflow that leverages smart algorithms to quickly calculate experimental variograms and auto-fit variogram models. By outsourcing the tedious part of variogram modelling to the machine, the modeller is then responsible for validating the results and adjusting the models when necessary. This approach saves precious time for the modeller.

Intelligent technology for the non-geostatistical expert
A design goal of Variphy is to make variogram modelling more accessible to the non-expert. Whenever possible the mathematical constraints are automatically managed by the machine. The modeller is left with a supervisory role. The error metric encapsulates the quality of fit for each model. The lower the error value the better the model. This metric can then guide the non-expert toward a high accuracy fit with minimal knowledge.

Enhanced workflows and increased productivity for the geostatistical expert
For the expert that is often tasked with modelling and validating hundreds of variogram models, Variphy provides a significant boost in productivity. First, with the automated computation of experimental variogram there is no need to iterate over lags and tolerance. Then, right from the start, Variphy provides a dashboard with all the autofitted models that can be sorted by domain, attribute, or error with a quick view of their fit. The modeller can then manage the entire project by setting the completion status per variogram model until a project is completed. This streamlined process is designed to manage large projects.

Dynamic technology which considers the full life cycle of project data
Samples and drillholes are not static, as a project evolves more data becomes available. Unfortunately, this additional information can sometimes be ignored since re-doing the variography is time and resource consuming. Variphy easily incorporates new data to update existing models. A modeller can then update a project anytime new data is available. Variphy will automatically detect which domains or attributes have changed, and update the experimental variograms and their respective models.

Variphy is a new solution for geoscience professionals, developed by AR2Tech, a company recently acquired by Seequent, a Bentley company.
