ARANZ Geo (now Seequent), a world leader in the interpretation and visualisation of geological data for the mining, environmental, and renewable energy industries, has been named a finalist in the New Zealand International Business Awards 2016 in the Best Medium Business – $10M to $50M category.

Managing Director, Shaun Maloney says, “This is a fantastic acknowledgement for our dedicated team around the world. We’ve been growing rapidly with an ambitious international growth strategy underpinned by constant innovation.”

Seequent’s software and solutions provide visual data science that supports better decision making, to reduce risk and unlock value for our customers. The company is known worldwide as the developer of the revolutionary Leapfrog 3D geological modelling solutions for the mining, environmental, renewable energy and other geologically dependent industries.

The company’s solutions turn complex data into geological understanding, providing timely insight for executives and geologists alike, to enable critical time-sensitive investment decisions that reduce risk, cost and time, and extract value.

Maloney says, “We’ve continued to buck the trend in the mining industry and experience rapid growth despite a global downturn. We’ve also broadened our focus into the environmental and renewable energy sectors and we’re seeing very promising results.”

The company’s global footprint includes offices in Australia, Peru, Chile, Colombia, Canada, Denmark, South Africa and the UK, with more planned. A total 97.5 percent of its software is exported to more than 80 countries.

This year marks the 50th anniversary of the New Zealand International Business Awards which are run by New Zealand Trade and Enterprise (NZTE) to celebrate Kiwi success on the world stage. The winners of the awards will be announced on November 24.
