ARANZ Geo (now Seequent), developer of 3D geological modelling software Leapfrog, has been recognised for innovation in design and engineering as a finalist of the New Zealand Innovation Awards 2016.

The NZ Innovation Awards highlight game changing innovation from new ventures, products and services from a broad range of industries and business disciplines.

Managing Director Shaun Maloney says, “Leapfrog pioneered the use of implicit modelling for geology and today leads the market due to our relentless focus on innovation. We have an incredibly dedicated team around the world and it’s great to see their innovation, design and engineering recognised in this way.”

Seequent solutions turn complex data into geological understanding, harnessing information to extract value, bring meaning and reduce risk, giving decision makers timely insight and confidence.

Maloney says, “Market conditions are tightening in mining, and other industries where geological understanding is required such as geothermal and hydrological modelling, which puts an even sharper focus on innovation and efficiencies. We actively engage our stakeholders and customers in the development process for Leapfrog to ensure continued innovation that meets the needs of the market. We’re keen to get their support for the public vote for the NZ Innovation Awards too.”

The People’s Choice Award enabling public voting for the NZ Innovation Awards will be open from the 12 September to the 30 September 2016 at www.innovationawards.org.nz.

The winners of the New Zealand Innovation Awards will be announced at an awards event in Auckland on Thursday 20 October.
